While in Branson, you must go on the Showboat Branson Belle. You’ll experience music, dancing, lots of food and a great time. I had never been before so I was excited to see what it was all about. Before leaving Texas for Branson, I had numerous family members tell me I had to go on the Showboat and that it was a great experience. I put their opinions aside and wanted to find out for myself what it was all about.
We arrived at The Showboat Branson Belle at approximately 6:45pm and had a few minutes to look around at shops before loading on to the boat.
I would suggest getting there at least 30 minutes before your boat loads so you have enough time to look around at the shops. 15 minutes wasn’t long enough for us. At 7pm sharp, our boat started loading.
When you purchase your ticket, you are assigned a seat and table number so upon entering the boat we went straight to our seat. We had about 15-20 minutes upon entering the boat to look around the boat, enjoy the sunset on the lake or to shop at their store.
I was so hungry upon arriving on the boat. After taking a glace around the boat, I went straight back to my seat hoping that I would be fed sooner! Our waitress was very nice and provided us with some rolls and butter as well as drinks to hold us over for dinner.
Once the boat was ready to set sail, a comedian took the stage, who would also be our host for the night. Christopher James, our host is not just a comedian but also a magician! I thought he was absolutely hilarious and his humor was so great, he had us all cracking up. While he was talking, we were served Iceberg & Romaine Salad featuring a Sweet Vidalia Onion Dressing topped with homemade Croutons. He told us that we would be receiving dinner soon and would have some lovely music during dinner then he would be back to see us after dinner.
Dinner was served within minutes and I was so thankful. I was so hungry and happy to see food!
There is a set menu on board. For dinner Slow-simmered Beef Roast and Honey-Dijon Glazed Chicken, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Sugar Snap Peas were served. They did not skimp on the meal size, I was pleasantly surprised that we received so much food. After we ate, the comedian returned to the stage and prepared us for our show.
Before I knew it, there were five guys on the stage singing one of my favorite songs – Happy by Pharrell. Here’s a small glimpse into the first performance.
If this was any indication, I knew it was going to be a good show! The Showmen performed songs of all sorts with lots of wardrobe changes that kept things interesting.
I thought that the Showmen were the only act of the show until Janice Martin took the stage. Janice is a multi talented performer who is a pianist, gymnast, violinist and more. Every one of her acts amazed me whether she was playing the piano or hanging high above the crowd while playing her violin.
Unfortunately, my phone died right before her amazing performance, so I snagged this picture from the Showboat Branson Belle Website. Before I knew the show was over. It flew by even though it lasted 2 full hours. I had a great time and will definitely be back next time I’m in Branson.
The Showboat Branson Belle is located at 4800 Highway 165, Branson, MO 65616.
