Before we left Dallas to go to Oregon’s Mt Hood Territory, I had heard so much about the waterfalls in Oregon. I become obsessed with seeing as many as possible. The first two days that we were in town, I didn’t see any and was completely bummed.
WHERE WERE ALL THE WATERFALLS?
I’m somewhat impatient sometimes because I soon realized our kayaking trip that afternoon was to Willamette Falls. We arrived about 15 minutes early to ENRG Kayaking to fill out a small waiver and get instructions about our trip. We decided to kayak in tandem, well I decided that we should kayak in tandem. I wasn’t real sure what the water would be like or how difficult so I made Quinn join me in the same kayak. Thankfully, there were 2 other couples going with us and they did the same thing. We paddled the Willamette River through waters rich with fish (chinook salmon, shad, smallmouth bass, and even sturgeons!) I was bummed that we didn’t see any crazy fish, but it was probably for the better. I probably would have freaked out and flipped us into the river. Our whole trip was approximately 90 minutes. The majority of the time we were paddling upstream to Willamette Falls. We hung around for a small amount of time while our guide gave us snippets of history about the river and the waterfall. We had such a fun time while kayaking. I was pleasantly surprised I wasn’t soaking wet afterwards. This was the perfect adventure for us to take while visiting Oregon and it made me happy to see a beautiful water fall!
