No kids yet, but we do have 3 sweet pets that I couldn’t imagine life without. The crazy thing about it is that I have a cat. I have hated cats all of my life (I can blame my mom for that). There was always something about them that freaked me out, no idea what it was but I just didn’t like it. When I started dating Quinn and found out he had a cat, I was a bit weirded out. Why the hell does a single guy have a cat? Shouldn’t that be a red flag? I ignored the signs and actually started to like the damn cat.
I’ve grown to love Safari – something I thought would never happen. She is low maintenance and most people don’t even know we have a cat since she is usually hiding from everyone. She tends to get her eyes crossed often which is hilarious and loves to be spanked – don’t ask. It’s very weird but for whatever reason she likes it. I googled it one day to see if my cat was a complete weirdo or if it’s normal for cats to like to be spanked and came across this video from ebaums world. Suzi is our rescue dog. I got her from Operation Kindness many, many years ago. She was rescued from Hurricane Katrina and stole my heart from the first time I saw her. We think Suzi is an Australian Shepherd / Corgi Mix. The unfortunate part about that mix is that she got the Australian Shepherd Body and the tiny corgi legs. She isn’t the skinniest thing so you can only imagine how disproportionate she is. We are currently on the road to getting her healthy and more in shape so we can have her for as long as possible.
Sumo is our little fireball. He is full of energy and as athletic as possible. Funny story about how we got him. I’ll go in detail later but he was my dad’s Christmas present one year but we fell in love with him while watching him before Christmas so we ended up keeping him. My dad still doesn’t know til this day that Sumo was suppose to be his. Don’t worry, we got him another miniature schnauzer. Sumo has literally brought Suzi back to life and given her a reason to get up and moving each day. It’s amazing to see the difference he has made in her life.
I’m always looking for other dogs to add to the equation but that might be a huge mistake because all of our animals get along seamlessly. Do you have pets? What kind?
