I’ve been a bridesmaid many times. MANY times. Maybe not as many as I make it sound but being a bridesmaid is a serious job. It takes tons of time (and money). I’ve been a maid of honor a hand full of times and that means even more time and money. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. I’m completely honored that someone likes (and trusts) me that much that they want me in their wedding to share their special day.
Since I know the hard work and energy that goes into being in the bridal party, I thought about items that I’ve received over the years from brides. Some were awesome, some were thoughtful and some were just fun. Giving a gift to your bridesmaid before the ceremony is a great way of thanking them for everything their doing. Thanking them for the long nights of making centerpieces. Thanking them for putting up with bridezilla and bridezillas whole family. Thanking them for wearing a bridesmaid dress that they might have never chosen. It’s a small gesture that I think every bride should do.
I don’t think that a bridesmaid gift needs to be extravagant, but it does need to be thoughtful. Think about what your bridesmaid loves. What is her favorite color? Does she wear jewelry? Would she rather have something fun or sentimental? Is she a girly girl or a tomboy? Get her something that she will love (not just something that you love).
I put together some fun ideas for your bridesmaid. Some are fun, some are thoughtful.
