July has been an amazing month and also a little crazy. We finally closed on our house (we financed). The process took much longer than expected but nothing felt better than being done with it! Our house has almost been completely renovated. When Quinn bought the house 5 years ago, he completely gutted it. It’s been a slow process getting it all put back together but it’s been so much fun choosing floors, cabinets, paint colors and more.
I never shared about the house because I wanted the refi process to be complete and now that it’s done, I can scream from the rooftop with excitement! I can’t wait to share pictures with you all of the inside and all of the renovations that we’ve done but I’m going to wait til their complete. We’re getting new wood floors and carpet put in within the next month. Once the floors are in, I’ll post pictures! Until then, I wanted to share the outside of our house.
I’ll have to retake pictures of the front once the sun goes down (and when the random car in front leaves) but you get the gist. To celebrate our new home, I made Quinn a little gift. Okay, it might have been really for me but I gave it to him and he loved it.
This was such a simple project. I was at Walmart so I picked up a frame that went well with our home decor. It was under $5 and I ran next door to Home Depot to get our home key made. I actually had a few made, because you can’t have enough home keys! It was less than $2 per key. To make this project more personal, I googled our city and took a screen shot of the map. I edited it in Picmonkey to the specific area that I wanted and printed it off the computer. It literally took 10 minutes, if that.
I was so happy with how it turned out and even happier that it cost practically nothing. To save costs, you can use a frame that you have laying around the house and a spare house key!
Do you have any special items that you have from your first home that you’ll never get rid of?
