Thank you to General Mills and Usher for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring us to start our day with happiness and positivity!
I’m not a morning person. I usually stay up until the wee hours of the night. It’s when I’m the most creative and when I’m able to get most of my work done. Unfortunately, that isn’t how the rest of the world works so I’m forced to wake up at a decent hour everyday. Since I’m usually a grump in the morning, I always try to make waking up fun – if that is even possible. Some fun things that help me get up in the morning are coffee, music and good food.
I hit a home run when I purchased my favorite cereal, Honey Nut Cheerios, and saw that they have an exclusive promotion with Usher going on. On the inside of each participating Honey Nut Cheerios cereal box, you will find your unique code which is your key to accessing Usher’s new song, “Clueless”! This song is ONLY available through this Honey Nut Cheerios promotion. It’s not included in Usher’s new album release and cannot be found or purchased anywhere else.
You probably don’t know, but I have a slight obsession with Usher. It’s a bit ridiculous. I have all of his songs memorized by heart (and maybe even some of his dance moves). I might have even dated someone that looked just like him for a while.
Anyways, I have a favorite Breakfast treat that I love to make that I wanted to share!
To say this recipe was easy, would be an understatement. I like to set up little stations to stuff my banana with all sorts of deliciousness. You can choose from all sorts of toppings. For mine this morning, I chose the basics – chocolate, marshmallows and Cheerios.
If you’re making these with kids, this is a fun way for them to be creative and to add whatever they’d like. Some other suggestions for filling the bananas would be peanut butter, honey, nuts, sugar and/or cinnamon.
Are you ready for how simple this recipe is? First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Cut open your banana horizontally then stuff all of your toppings into the banana. You’ll notice that you can’t stuff too much in there so pick and choose your toppings carefully. Pictured is one of my favorites and it’s probably the simplest. Just add marshmallows and chocolate, if you prefer your Cheerios to be crunchy add them to the banana once it has baked. One you have all of your toppings stuffed into the banana, wrap it tightly in foil. Place your banana directly on the oven rack and bake for approximately 12 minutes. All you’re doing is heating all of your toppings up and melting everything together.
Once your banana bakes, pull it out of the oven and let sit for about a minute. The foil will be hot so be careful! Here is the most fun part… grab a spoon and DIG IN! You won’t be disappointed.
How could you resist?
Look for this box when purchasing your Honey Nut Cheerios so you won’t miss Usher’s exclusive song. Once you get his song, you will have no reason not to wake up early and jam out!
